The Goal
Produce an interactive experience based around an alternative controller with a team of designers and developers.
The Result
Over the course of six months, my team and I built a game revolving around the use of a giant flosser and toothbrush to activate animations onscreen. We took our game to San Francisco in March 2026 as finalists for alt.ctrl.GDC.
The Process
For our initial prototypes in the fall, I modeled low-poly teeth in Cinema4D, measured the geometry of the faces, and cut them out of cardboard. In the spring I worked with my team to build our final set of teeth out of chicken wire, paper mache, and wood glue. I also drilled holes in the top of each tooth so that the photoresistors could sense light properly.
I outlined the branding parameters in our style guide, noting important elements like type and color to be used in our game and promotional material. During winter break, I built our website in Framer, linked here.
